My couch went missing after the Canucks game yesterday. I am leaning towards the possibility that my butt was clenched so hard that it sucked it up.
Third time’s the charm
Dan, a good friend of the podcast, has been kind enough to organize a Rangers fan meetup for the past three years now. Hopefully it’s something that will continue as I think it’s a wonderful way for new fans to meet each other. In fact, I had the opportunity to attend one year and it was a lot of fun; great food, great people. The hockey, though, that’s another story.
The first year it was organized, the Rangers were unfortunately shutout by the Philadelphia Flyers. In the following year, luck just had it that the Ottawa Senators would as well. The funny thing about the latter is that up until that point, the Rangers had been scoring something like 5-6 goals a game.
Fast forward to November 26, 2017. Now, as you can imagine, as the first period went by…
Oh my god, it’s happening again.
Thankfully, the Rangers wouldn’t let that narrative play out. For everyone who went, I hope you all had a wonderful time! Though I do wonder if the furniture in the suite might have had the same fate as my couch.

And don’t get me wrong, that can easily still happen this week. I could spend an hour explaining to you how god awful Steve Kampfer was on Sunday against the Canucks. I could spend a countless amount of words on how next level Henrik Lundqvist has been in the last two games. I could even gush about Rick Nash some more just to rub it in Ryan’s face.
Nah, not today. I don’t have it in me today.
Instead, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you to Dan LaRose who organized the Reddit/Blueshirts Breakaway meet up.
Thank you to everyone who took time out of their Thanksgiving weekend to hang out in a suite at Madison Square Garden to watch an incredibly frustrating yet incredibly satisfying Rangers win.
Thank you to the people who actually listen to us on a weekly basis and read the things we post on our website.
Thank you. Seriously. We started doing all of this for fun with no idea what we were actually doing, and now it feels like we’ve been thrust into a new extended family full of incredible, kind and funny people.
I never would’ve thought any of this was possible. And now I don’t know what possibly could be next.
But it’s fun. And you make it fun. So, again, thank you. So much. For everything.
